Studying In The UK? Don't Let Your Accent Get In The Way

coming to UK to study?

In a few short weeks the academic Summer Term comes to a close.

Are your thoughts turning to the next academic Year?

Are you coming to the UK to take up a place at one of our Universities or Colleges?

Are you looking forward to your studies and fitting in and meeting lots of new friends and companions?

Or are you worried that your native accent is hampering your ability to communicate clearly and effectively, preventing you from forming the friendships and study partnerships you would like?

Even though your English knowledge is perfectly competent, if not excellent - you sometimes feel that you are not always understood by native British speakers and are often asked to repeat yourself.
Even though your English lessons were outstanding, they didn't always focus so much on the spoken and pronunciation aspects of learning the language.

Wouldn't it be so much easier to speak fluent, effortless English in a neutral British accent that is easily and widely understood?

BritishAccent1 EditedWell it is possible to modify your accent and speak with a more RP British accent sound.  RP stands for 'received pronunciation' and it's the accent that most people associate when you say the term 'British accent'.  It is the accent spoken by actors and actresses such as Kate Winslett, Daniel Craig, Stephen Fry...to name but a few.  If you think of Downton Abbey - it's the accent spoken by the upper class residents of the house.

It's the accent that I speak with - take a listen to any of my audio/video files on the blog and you can hear my voice.

So would you like to improve your accent and take the stress out of communicating?  Take the 9 Week Challenge and improve your accent following the 9 Weeks To A Great British Accent Course.  Just in time for the start of the new year and new term!
